The Municipal Clerk is a critical component to keep the municipality functioning, as every aspect of the Borough business must pass through the Clerk's office.   One of the most important tasks is to serve as a liaison between the governing officials and the residents of Borough of Union Beach.  You can either reach us by phone, emails above or reaching out to Governing Body directly.

The Municipal Clerk has responsibilities required by New Jersey Statute which include the following:

  1. As Secretary to the Governing Body attends all Borough Council meetings and is responsible for the preparation of the agendas and minutes for those meetings.  Maintains originals of minutes, ordinances and resolutions.
  2. As Secretary to the Municipal Corporation is the custodian of the municipal seal and keeper of the municipality’s records including all minute books, deeds, bonds, contracts and archival records.
  3. As Chief Administrative Officer of Elections certifies vacancies of Council and suggests polling places to the County Clerk, along with other election duties.
  4. As Chief Registrar of Voters provides residents with voting forms and ensures completed forms are submitted to the County.
  5. As Administrative Officer accepts applications and issues licenses and permits, and conducts business with other municipal departments.
  6. As Records Coordinator and Manager is responsible for implementing local archives and records retention program as mandated.
  7. Other duties that are now or hereafter imposed by statute, regulation or by municipal ordinance or regulation.
