Annual Vegetation Management Aerial Patrol (pdf)
Jersey Central Power & Light will be conducting our Annual Vegetation Management Aerial Patrol. Vegetation Management Aerial inspections are scheduled during the April through September time frame on an annual basis and cover all transmission facilities system-wide. Patrols consist of a Forestry Specialist that accompanies the pilot to identify effectiveness of prior year’s herbicide application and identification of any conditions warranting further inspection from the ground and or corrective action. Please be advised that Haverfield will be the helicopter company assisting in the inspections on all JCP&L Transmission Lines, beginning May 20th and 21st, weather permitting.

The pilot will be in communication with any local airports, when in their airspace. The helicopter will be flying at a speed of about 35-40 mph above or alongside the lines and may circle around for a closer inspection.

The helicopter is black with tail number “N371EE” (photo attached)

Police Week and Peace Officers Memorial Day (pdf)
Peace Officers Memorial Day is observed annually on May 15. This holiday is a part of Police Week. Peace Officers Memorial Day in the USA was created on October 1, 1961 by Congress. It asked President John F. Kennedy to designate May 15 as the memorial day that honors all peace officers who had died in the line of duty. The bill was signed by President and it came into law on October 1, 1962. The president designated May 15 of each year as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as Police Week.
A Message From Paul J. Smith, Jr (pdf)
Hello Friends and Happy Spring!
Now that winter is behind us, it is time to get started on some new projects in the borough.
Our 2019 Capital Improvements Program is very ambitious, as are some of the other improvements scheduled to be completed this year. The Council recently introduced a bond ordinance to fund some of the major projects; others will be funded through the 2019 Municipal purposes budget and many will have their costs offset by various grants obtained by the town. You will see a lot of activity in different parts of the town as these projects get underway.
If you do not have a YELLOW sticker, please come to Borough Hall for one. You MUST have your license and REGISTRATION or one will not be issued. Stickers are vehicle specific and non-transferrable.
Monmouth County Planning Board-CRS
The CRS program which is run by FEMA through the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) scores communities on their effectiveness in dealing with flood mitigation as well as flood plain management and development. Flood insurance policy holders in participating CRS communities are eligible for discounts in Special Flood Hazard Areas based on their community’s CRS rating. The Monmouth County Division of Planning and the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management have partnered to offer their professional and technical expertise in hazard mitigation, community planning, public outreach, and GIS mapping to municipalities that wish to participate in the Monmouth County Community Rating System Assistance Program.
